A development by the Miller family, founders of Bien Nacido Vineyards, this fine project adds a new level of refinement to this region. Knowing Vineyard Manager Chris Hammelâ€™s enthusiasm and commitment, I was motivated to select this vineyard. From the first few vintages, wines from this vineyard made by other producers showed great potential and have not disappointed. Spread on beautifully even hills, this is the most westerly vineyard in the appellation making it the coolest due to its proximity to the ocean. Notoriously low yielding vines of clones 115, 667, and 777 create a great concentration of balanced flavors. Bright acidity highlighting gentle red fruit aromatics with a hint of chocolate and smokiness. Medium to full-bodied with velvet texture but perfectly delineated. This vineyard has the potential to become the â€śGrand Cruâ€ť of the Santa Barbara County.
